Tether's reserves are published daily and subject to regular professional audits. The reserves are comprised of traditional currency holdings as well as other assets and receivables from loans made by Tether to third parties.

The process of conversion back to fiat is equally simple: users send Tether tokens to a Tether-verified exchange or directly to Tether Limited, and upon verification, the corresponding fiat currency is transferred.

Tether tokens are issued and redeemed via the Tether platform. The supply of Tether tokens will only increase if and when real-world fiat currency has been deposited and confirmed, maintaining a 1-to-1 ratio at all times.
